After his first summer at camp from Veracruz, Mexico, Alex Lara was back home celebrating El Grito, which marks Mexican Independence Day. As he was celebrating his heritage back home, he couldn't help but daydream about his new home in Hayward. He had this to say:
"I met amazing people that not only are my friends but also is my family, my north star family."Alex wanted to share this bit of his culture. Today, September 16th is Mexican Independence Day. So to our campers, staff and alumni in Mexico, Feliz Día de la Independencia!
