Staff Spotlight - Sam Bricker

Sam Bricker returns to North Star for summer #9. A senior at Deerfield High School, Sam is the President of the student council. He's also the captain of the DHS tennis team and he recently finished second at the State DECA competition. Sam has also been heavily involved in School Chest, a fundraiser at the HS where they've raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity.

Growing up, one of Sam's baby sitters was Andy Shlensky. The editor notes, however, that Sam can grow better facial hair than Andy at this point! At Camp Sam instructs tennis and disc golf.

How has camp impacted you?
- First and foremost camp has fostered the strongest of my friendships. It's been a place that provided familiarity and comfort, but so too has it pushed me to new heights. North Star provides an environment where counselors and campers alike can grow in ways they never could have imagined.
