Staff Spotlight - Jacob Byck

Jacob Byck returns to North Star for his seventh summer and his third on staff. A native of Deerfield, IL, Jacob just graduated from Deerfield High School. Jacob will be trading his DHS Warrior red for Spartan green as next year he'll head to Michigan State University where he'll be a freshman in the fall.

Jacob is a big sports fan. He's played baseball and was also an assistant coach. We're excited to have him back as a cabin counselor instructing softball and other athletics.

More about Jacob

How has camp impacted you?
- Camp has impacted me into becoming a responsible person. I never would have imagined being the counselor I am today without going to camp. On top of that, being an overnight camp counselor has taught me how to connect with kids, or any group of people. I am a totally different person as a result of camp.
