Staff Spotlight - Max Dokell


My name is Maxwell Dokell, but typically go by Max. I currently a Junior at the Emery/Weiner School in Houston, Texas. I play for the 1st year, varsity lacrosse team at my school. I recently traveled to New Orleans to visit family and go to the French Quarter Music Festival. Also, I went on a class trip to New York where I took part in activity revolved around my class's theme of empathy.  

I will be returning to camp for my 7th summer!

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what are three things you'd bring?
- A knife, flint, and a garbage bag

What is your favorite spot at camp?
- The Council Ring

If you could have lunch with any two people, dead or alive, who would they be?
- Winston Churchill and Andre Johnson

What sports team(s) that you root for?
- Houston Texans & Rockets

What is your favorite special program at camp?
- All Camp Capture the Flag

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do there?
- I would travel to Qamea Island, Fiji, where I would go spearfishing while living in a village.

What's your go-to pie at the Norske Nook?
- Chocolate Peanut Butter

Best holiday gift that you've ever gotten?
- Family Trip to London

How has camp impacted you?
- Camp has allowed me to be myself in a safe, friendly environment. It has taught me how to be able to be independent while still being there for the community.
