Staff Spotlight: Joe Meyer


Joe Meyer is from Los Angeles, CA and is finishing up hus junior year in high school. This past year, Joe has been involved in three school productions, swam for the school swim team, and been a math tutor for second graders. Joe returns to camp after a one-year hiatus to be a first-time staff member. Welcome Joe!

If you wrote an autobiography, what would the title be?

The title for my autobiography would be One Day at a Time

What TV show or movie are you ashamed to admit that you love?

I’m a big fan of Disney Channel’s Sky High
Where is your favorite spot at camp?

My favorite spot at camp is the villa campsite next the Pine house
What is your dream vacation?

My dream vacation is definitely exploring Iceland and Scandinavia
If you had a super hero power, what would it be?

My super power would have to be telepathy
If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to see?

I’d want to live in pre-WWII Berlin under the Weimar Republic
What is your favorite quote from a movie?

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.” — The Godfather

What's your favorite restaurant in the Hayward area?

I’m a Norsky Nook fan (classic apple pie is my favorite)
What is your hidden talent?

I can wiggle both of my eyebrows.
What advice would you give to someone coming to North Star for the first time?

Try an activity that is out of your comfort zone, or one you’ve never tried before (for me that was archery).
